Massachusetts Tornado!
Yesterday was a scary day in New England!
I check my Weather Channel App on my phone every morning. When I checked it this time there was a Tornado Watch. I didn't believe it, I just thought New Enlgand gets watches here and there but nothing ever really happens. Oh was I wrong! Even though in New Hampshire nothing happened besides severe thunderstorms about 2 hours away in Springfield, Ma they weren't so lucky.
During rush hour yesterday a tornado ran through downtown Springfield and surrounding suburbs. I was watching it all happen over the news channels. I couldn't believe the video and pictures I was seeing. It was crazy. No one would ever expect something like this to happen in New England, it's very rare.
Massachusetts is under a State of Emergency and there are National Guard there now helping out with the aftermath. Reportedly 40+ people have been admitted to the hospital. There is still much more details to come.
I just hope that everyone is safe over there in Springfield, Ma! And hopefully with everyones help there can give them a speedy recovery and bring the town back to how it was.

My Summer So Far!

Hello All!
I know I have been lacking extremely lately with updates but I have been grinding hard! This summer I promised myself that I will dedicate every minute to reaching and working on all my short/long time goals. So that is exactly what I am doing..
Here is a little update..
I worked hard this year so I can transfer out of the college I was attending and go to a MUCH better one. I knew that where I was going to school wasn't giving me what I knew other schools offered. I knew I was better than what my school made us do. I worked hard and last week I found out I was accepted to the school I applied to! Can't wait to head there in the fall studying Communications/Film. Look out for my name on your movie screens in the future! ;-)
Second thing, I'm starting my 4-week Fitness bootcamp tomorrow morning at 6am SHARP! I am ready for the summer and the bikini I have hanging in my closet isn't just going to hang there this Summer! Everyday from May 23rd until June 17th I will be working my butt off! I'm going to be eating healthy and exercising a whole bunch. I'll be sure to keep you guys posted on my progress!
And the third thing is that I'm working hard towards getting my resume and experience up in video and radio production. I went online and hit up a local radio station called 87.9 The Beat, I sent them an email saying I was interested in interning or(I took a big chance and just threw it out there) maybe even being a radio host for the station. I thought "what is the worst that can happen? they don't write back. But what if they do?" A few weeks after I sent that email I recieved one back asking me to come in for an interview. I couldn't believe it.
Last week I had my interview with the radio station. I never had been on the radio before, I only had taken a radio class in school but it was just teaching us how to write scripts.So I went in there and used the personality and confidence I had and did the interview. It must of shined through because I am the new host for 87.9 The Beat! When I recieved the email from the program director that I got the job, I was so happy. I just couldn't believe it. After all the screaming and excitement I had I went right to working and setting up what my show is going to be about.
Starting Friday May 27, 2011 I will be hosting the weekend show on 87.9 The Beat. If you guys want to tune in go to 879thebeat.com My show will be on Friday 8-10pm Saturday & Sunday 12-3pm! Life of a College Student!
I understand some of you asked me "where are the blog post?!"... Sorry for the lack of updates or none in the past few days. I've just been swarmed with projects, papers, and other assignments this week! Oh the life of a college student.... For the next week and a half I'll barely be posting because of school and plus finals are a week away. I got to study hard and finish off the semester strong! Duh. I will be back soon with lots of stories, photos, and updates!

Pure Talent..
How terrific is Adele? It blows my mind away how talented she is! Her voice is hands down one of the best. The video above was Adele LIVE on Letterman.. let me say that again LIVE.. How many artist these days can sounds that great when performing live?.. I can probably only count them all on my hands.
To go to one of her concerts is on my MUST-do list. Amazing.

Kanye West Performs at Coachella 2011
Last night Kanye West took the stage at Coachella 2011. The performance was EPIC! He gave the crowd and viewers a energy filled night of greatness! It was brilliant! 'Ye performed songs from College Dropout all the way to My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. He gave the crowd is heart and sould on the coachella stage, you could seriously feel it while watching.
This Coachella performance had to be one of Kanye West BEST! If fans weren't able to attend Coachella, YouTube was there to save the day! Which I and many others took advantage of. So if you missed out on the Epic night, don't worry the video above is the 2hr concert. Be ready to be blown away.

Tonight Kanye West performed at Coachella and it was absolutely amazing! Yes, I have watched and enjoyed it from my dorm room on YouTube Live, but it didn't matter! It was still EPIC! I am going crazy with excitement!!!! My favorite artist of all time, the beautiful Alicia Keys is releasing the 10th Anniversary Edition of "songs of A minor" Album! That is one of my favorite albums from her. Absolutely ahhhmazing! I can't wait till June to get it!
On her website she said:
June 28th, 2011 will mark the 10 year anniversary of Alicia's debut album, "songs in A Minor!" To celebrate, Alicia and J Records will be releasing Deluxe and Collector’s editions of the album. The original release of songs in A minor sold more than 12 million albums worldwide and garnered Keys with her first five, of 14 total, Grammy® Awards including Best New Artist, Best Song of the Year for “Fallin,” and Best R&B Album. With the 10th Anniversary Editions, Keys’ fans will be able to rediscover this seminal album and explore previously unreleased and original bonus material, such as the tracks “A Woman’s Worth” remix featuring Nas; “Juiciest” mix tape version; “Fallin” the Ali soundtrack version; and the previously unreleased “Typewriter,” “If I Was Your Woman” Original Funky Demo version and "Butterflyz (The Drumline Mix)."
The Deluxe Edition two-disc set and Collector’s Edition three-disc set will feature very special packaging and an enhanced booklet featuring new liner notes from Keys. I found about rapper, LuWees about a month ago and I became a fan right away with his laid back flow. LuWees is different, what he has to say isn't about tons of junk. I'm sick of hearing about only sex, drugs, fly cars, and the money, give me something new.. That fresh sound. Well, that's what LuWees gives. He stands out from other artist with his unique flow and the quick connection listeners are able to make with what he is saying.

According to Time.Com the Best Celebrity Twitter Feeds are: Neil Patrick Harris, Alyssa Milano, Felicia Day, Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Ellen DeGeneres, Ashton Kutcher, Justin Bieber, and Lady Gaga.. a I have to disagree 80%! I do enjoy Kanye West and Neil Patrick Harris' tweets, very funny. But I think Time is not looking at ALL celebs. I follow all these celebs and I don’t agree cause I don't classify all of those chosen as the "Best".
Twitter is a cool way to see what your favorite celebrity is talking about or doing, but also Twitter can show you how incredibly boring their favorite celebrities are. I like following people on twitter for entertainment and information, not about "I love my fans" in every single tweet. Drake hosted the 2011 Juno Awards honoring the best in Canadian music. He added some humor to the show with his "Old Money" skit. Funny stuff. I fell in love with Drake all over again. I love a man with a sense of humor :-) haha

Being Single Isn't A Bad Thing...
I love this song 'Single' by Natasha Bedingfield because it's just a song of celebrating and being fine being single.
I don't understand why so many women or men say that they need a boyfriend/girlfriend to make them happy.. Yes, having someone there giving you all their love and attention is great but when it gets to a point that you can't even be happy if you don't have that for a little while, that's a bit much. I have friends and know people that jump to one relationship to another, never single, or miserable if they're not pursuing someone to make them their boyfriend/girlfriend. I just analyze and think are they filling a void, don't like being lonely, just love love, or do they only feel happy with an significant other?..
There is a point when people lose themselves in love and don't think their worthy or can be happy if they don't have someone there. I think it is so important to know what makes YOU happy before you rely on someone else to do that for you. When some people are single their life comes crashing down, it's the worst time of their life, but it's really not. You are able to focus on yourself and just live your life. I'm not saying if love comes your way push it away because hey I'm not saying I don't wanna fall in love because I definitely would, but I'm not going to dread these days because im not in love..
I'm not knocking anyones style but this is just my opinion. If I'm not in a relationship, I'll survive and continue excelling in what I do, and if one day love comes crawling my way, I'll embrace it and continue to stay true to myself and what makes me happy.
I just think people should live their life for them! Enjoy life!

Steve Nash Diet Challenge: Complete
Hey All!
Pardon me for not giving you the final update of me completing the diet challenge. There was some technical issue but I finally have my computer back fixed!
So, I completed the Nash Diet challenge! It went very well and much better than I thought it would be. I tell you my body had so much more energy when I was done. I also learned a lot on being healthier with how Steve Nash eats. It was a very disciplined diet but I'm glad I completed it and I will continue eating much healthier. Maybe not exactly like Steve Nash but almost like him.
During the week I did have to fight off the temptations of foods I was used to and surely did want to eat like: Steak, Pork chops, Pizza, mommas cooking, etc. But I'm very glad I didn't fall to temptation because I felt great at the end of the week. It did get kind of boring with only being able to eat grilled or baked Chicken or Fish. I just wanted to spice it up a little but I told myself it was only a week and I can do it.
This experience was interesting and very fun to eat like a two time MVP/One of my favorite players in the NBA. Now I can see why Steve Nash is still playing in the NBA at the age 36. It's all about staying healthy and I definitely will be! Yes, I'll manage my own diet to be healthy but also to have my favorites include. It's all about portions!
Maybe in the summer I'll do the diet again for an entire month! We'll see.

Nash Diet Challenge Update
Hello all!
Today is Day 6 of the Nash Diet Challenge! I just wanted to give you all a little update of how my week has been since it is almost over.
It has been challenging especially being back home for Spring Break. I have to turn down almost all of my favorite foods and all the junk foods that people offer me. Even though I have to turn down the temptations and can't enjoy my favorites, I actually am enjoying what I have been eating for the past six days. Lots of fiber, fruits, baked chicken/fish, almond milk, brown rice, etc. It's not bad but I can't lie, here and there I would like something different.
Today for Breakfast I had a bowl of Gluten Free Rice Chex cerealm, Almond milk, a side of fruit, and water. Then for Lunch I enjoyed a salad with grilled chicken, nuts, and some dried fruit. It was all so delicious. Not sure what I'm having tonight for dinner but I'll figure it out.
As well doing the diet I have been going to the gym everyday. I have so much more energy when I'm there, it must be all the new food I have going through my body. Crazy thing is that I've lost 4 pounds since being on this diet, crazy!
Well I have one more to go and I'm not worried at all. Steve Nash would be proud :-)

I Love Finding New Music...
Tonight while browsing over Twitter I came across this rapper named LuWees. I've never heard of him or anything but I clicked on a link he had on his page and it brought me to his nifty music page(http://luwees.bandcamp.com/). The art work for the songs were really neat so I went on and checked out the music..
LuWees is a Rapper from Seattle and he has such a cool, calm, laidback flow in each song. Right away I became a fan and totally interested in all the songs he had. I listened to every song he had on the website, downloaded to my comp, and put it on my iPod right away... You gotta listen to him.. That's what I call good music..

New Video Alert: Big Sean- Hometown
Big Sean just released another music video, the song 'Hometown' is from the mixtape Finally Famous Vol. 3. This song is actually one of my favorites from the mixtape because the Adele 'Hometown Glory' sample, and I love adele. So mixing Big Sean and Adele together it obviously is going to be a great track!.... Make sure to be on the look out for Big Sean's debut album Finally Famous: The Album , which will be dropping May 3rd, 2011. I'm definitely getting that when it drops!

Album Alert: Lupe Fiasco- LASERS
Yes! Lupe Fiasco's album LASERS is out in stores now!
Last year it hit the web that 'Lasers' had languished in limbo at Atlantic Records with no release date in sight although it's been finished for months. When this information surfaced Fiasco's fans started a petition for Atlantic Records to release his album. After over 32,000 signatures Atlantic Records announced that 'Lasers' would be released March 8th. Lupe went to his twitter and said- 'Victory'
Last month in a Complex interview Lupe said that he hates the album:
“One thing I try to stress about this project is, I love and hate this album. I listen to it and I’ll like some of the songs. But when I think about what it took to actually get the record together … I hate this album.”
Then he continued saying:
“I’m happy for the fans, this is their album. This is the album that they fought for.”
Everytime I go back and read how the album process went I think good and bad. Bad, because how is a record company not going to release someones album when it's finished. Good, because the fans raised their voice and demanded it to be released. It shows that people know amazing talent when they hear it.
Make sure to go cop Lupe's newalbum 'Lasers' in stores now or on iTunes! Show the record labels that Lupe's music is real music!

Congrats Adele!
In her blog post she says:
The first time I ever came to america I was 15 and my dad took me on holiday to NY. I remember going into the then massive virgin store in times square where I thought how amazing it would be to one day have a record in a record shop abroad. Though I NEVER thought it likely in the UK, because it’s pretty unlikely full stop. The thought of my music travelling to any extent always seemed impossible!
Almost 7 years later I’ve just been told I have a number 1 album in the US!!! Nothing that’s happened to me over the last month at home or abroad has sunk in, because I was so frightened of releasing it that i grew concrete skin. But it definitely just cracked. And I can’t put into specific words how I feel right now, but ive never felt this way before! Thank you so much! I head home tomorrow for a little break before I head out to see you all on the tour and i cant wait.
